Who exactly is Atomsk? Well, good question because the first few times I saw the series I still didn't exactly understand what his underlying purpose was. But the entire movie is based off of him so let's begin!

The Pirate King Prisoner?
Atomsk is described to us as a space pirate that earned himself the nickname of the "Pirate King." This is because he has so much N.O. powers that he can basically summon and steal anything in the universe, even entire star systems. However, this entity is apparently captured by Medical Mechanica and is held a prisoner at some location unknown to us.

Too Much Muscle!
In first part of the series, he is inaccurately described by Amarao who portrays him as a huge bulky being with unnatural amounts of muscles on him. He has green veins surging throughout his body. Amarao also details that Haruko loves him and desires to find and free him from Medical Mechanica.

Power
In the latter part of the series, we finally meet Atomsk. Atomsk is actually a huge bird-like character that resembles a phoenix. In episode six, we see Atomsk perching on top of the Medical Mechanica structure and is absorbing everything into his chest. The entire town is literary levitating and flying towards him as if they aren't affected by gravity at all. This displays Atomsk's huge powers.

Love!
We also learn that Haruko may just be in love with Atomsk because he possesses so much power and she wishes to "eat" his powers so she can be a 'Pirate King' herself. I don't know how the 'Pirate King' feels about this but I'm sure it won't work out between a bird and an alien chick. But I think he's pretty excited that's he's finally free of course to the help of not only Naota but Haruko for unleashing the potential in Naota.

The Color Red
Atomsk is displayed to us as a red entity with a red aura surrounding him. Kanti, the first robot that popped out of Naota's head was originally red as well, perhaps because he attained some of Atomsk's power. We know for sure that in the last episode, Naota possesses Atomsk's power after he pulls himself out of Kanti while appearing flamingly red.
