FLCL MERCHANDISE
FLCL is more than just the OAV series; it's about toys, wallscrolls, soundtracks, t-shirts, and
books!
The producers at GAINAX have spawned numerous toys and books with the release of Furi Kuri.
I admit that these toys do look pretty awesome, but unfortunately with my luck, I can't seem
to find any of the toys in my area anymore. Of course, the next best thing are online stores!
I'm not going to give you super detailed information on every product related to FLCL because:
First off, who really cares that the second English manga edition was released on November 2003,
illustrated by Hajime Ueda, and has 192 pages?
Secondly, I haven't even purchased the mangas yet. (I have read them though! ^_^)
Thirdly, I haven't bought everything yet to tell you the information without copying it straight
from someone else's resource archives. *tsk, tsk*
Lastly, when you're searching for the product on some online anime store, they'll have all the
information ready for you!
FLCL PRODUCTS LIST
If you're interested, here's a rundown on the products that I've found relating to FLCL. I might be
missing some FLCL products, but I know I included everything that I really want and already have.
FLCL VOL.1 DVD (image)
The first FLCL DVD! ^_^ Ya know, contains the first two episodes, yada yada. Fooly Cooly
and Fire Starter.
FLCL VOL.2 DVD (image)
The second FLCL DVD! ^_^ Third and fourth episodes, Marquise de Carabas and Full Swing.
FLCL VOL.3 DVD (image)
The third FLCL DVD! ^_^ Fifth and sixth episodes, Brittle Bullet and FLCLimax.
FLCL MANGA VOL.1
I read this manga when I went vacationing, it's a little different than the OAV's, but very entertaining of course.
FLCL MANGA VOL.2
I also borrowed this manga from a special particular whilst I was on my travels. Again, this is a bit different.
OST 1: ADDICT
My very first FLCL product, the Addict OST. If you have a tight budget,
I'd recommend you save up for the third OST because the songs are full length. Songs and more information
is listed on the soundtrack page.
OST 2: KING OF PIRATES
Another cool OST, this one includes "drama" takes which is interesting to listen to. You can read more about it
on the soundtrack page.
OST 3: COMPILATIONS
Awesome soundtrack, I bought this from a video store at a local mall. If you want to feel like a total badass when
you're driving around, then pump out this music. Read more about it at the soundtrack page.
BLUE KANCHI ACTION FIGURE (image)
This is one cool looking toy. I bought this one off eBay.com.
Although, this version of Kanchi is a bit harder to find than the red one. Another must have for FLCL fanatics.
RED KANCHI ACTION FIGURE
Bah humbug! I don't have this action figure yet, but you can find these a lot easier than the blue Kanchi. They generally
look the same, except for the obvious color changes. I think the heads might be different too. Ebay is the place to find
these suckers.
HARUKO & COSMIC SCOOTER SET (image)
The coolest FLCL toy ever, however difficult to find.
I bought this from Japanimation.com.
It comes with Haruko Haruhara, her scooter, a bass guitar, and a guitar case. It's wicked. A must have for FLCL fans.
MISC. T-SHIRTS
I personally think the T-shirts sucks. That's my commentary. :)
POSTERS
There's a lot of different kinds of posters. Too many to list, they're pretty neat though, so check out the online stores
below to read and see more about them.
BOOTLEG DVD (!?!?)
Yep, bootleg DVD. Although, I would recommend you buy the legit versions, if you're a super FLCL fan and just want to
watch FLCL with the limited money you have, maybe this could be an option for you. It is one DVD with episodes 1-6 on it. If you
search around, you could probably find it from some sellers.
PURCHASING INFORMATION
You can purchase most of the above products at various online sites. I recommend the following sites:
Japanimation
Highly recommended, I did business with them and they're fabulous, fast, and reliable!
AnimeCastle
Quite an extensive catalog of FLCL stuff. Must see.
AAAnime
Another promising online anime store!
eBay
Looking for a bargain? eBay might be it. You can probably buy the FLCL products cheapest here. Although,
in the past couple of weeks, they haven't had the greatest of selection of the FLCL products.
But be sure to check
where the products are being shipped from, if it's from out of this country, then shipping would be quite expensive. Also,
be sure that shipping is reasonable, you might be able to purchase a DVD for say, $10-15.00, but sometimes they
jack up the shipping charges to like $20.00 just so they don't have to pay the eBay charges. Yuck!
